JaVale McGee is enjoying a career renaissance. After absent-minded follies and a nagging leg injury nearly forced him out of the NBA, the 7-footer has settled in as an instant-energy reserve this season for the Warriors.
Still, he has one matter from his forgettable, one-season stint with Dallas hanging over him: a lawsuit filed last November by his former landlord alleging a number of violations.
According to court documents obtained by Deadspin.com, the lawsuit, dated Nov. 1, 2016, claimed that McGee owed money in late rent fees, didn’t pay rent for the last half of September 2016, housed a cat for 178 days — a violation of the lease agreement — and caused damage that kept the landlord, Matthew T.
