On Jan. 4, roughly 90 minutes before a regular-season game against the Warriors at Oracle Arena, Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts took issue with an ad spot.
“I saw an ESPN commercial like, ‘Which Warrior is going to go off?’ They didn’t mention Ian Clark,” Stotts told reporters. “I mean, the guy is averaging 22 (points) against us. He’s shooting 90 percent.”
It was a fair criticism: Though Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are the faces of Golden State’s franchise, Clark — the former undrafted free agent from Belmont — has posed plenty of problems for Portland.
