Warriors’ guard Stephen Curry speaks out on Santa Fe High School shooting

OAKLAND — In light of the deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas, Warriors guard Stephen Curry condemned the actions of the shooter, while pushing for tighter gun laws.

“You send your thoughts and prayers,” Curry said Friday afternoon. “It’s a tragic situation that hurts your heart when you think about kids going to school and being safe.”

On Friday morning, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis opened fire at the school, killing 10 people and wounding 10. According to authorities, the teenager was armed with a shotgun and revolver, owned by his father.

Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul, whose team will face the Warriors on Sunday in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals, also spoke about the tragedy in Santa Fe, which is about an hour southeast of Houston.
