Warriors guard Klay Thompson gets his high school jersey retired in Orange County

On Friday afternoon, just hours after dropping 23 points against the Pistons in the Bay Area, Klay Thompson arrived at his Orange County high school — Santa Margarita — for his jersey retirement ceremony.

Thompson wore the No. 1 for SMCHS, averaged 22.1 points in his three varsity seasons and led the school to a 30-5 record and Division III state title his senior year, scoring 37 points in the championship game.

Here is a social media compilation from the school’s various accounts of the ceremony, which his father, former NBA player Mychal Thompson, attended.
