OAKLAND -- Warriors forward Draymond Green on Monday was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week.
Averaging 18.8 points, 11.3 assists and 9.5 rebounds as the Warriors won three of four games vaulted Green into position to win the weekly honor for the first time.
“It’s pretty amazing,” Green said Monday morning, after the team’s shootaround. “It’s a blessing.”
The 6-foot-6 forward likely sealed the honor in taking over the NBA lead in triple-doubles with six, posting them in back-to-back games: Thursday at Houston and Saturday at Oracle Arena against the Denver Nuggets.
Two days after delivering 10 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists against the Rockets, Green submitted 29 points, 17 rebounds and 14 assists against Denver.
