Warriors finalizing a deal with Rick Celebrini to head medical staff

The Warriors are finalizing a deal with physiotherapist Rick Celebrini to become the head of Golden State’s medical staff, team sources told the Bay Area News Group.

The New York Times was first to report the news of the deal being finalized.

Celebrini, a long time physiotherapist, replaces former Head Performance Therapist Chelsea Lane, who left to join the Atlanta Hawks in a similar position last month. Prior to the Warriors, he was a consultant for the Vancouver Canucks. In 2004, Celebrini co-founded the Fortius Institute, a Canadian athlete development center. In 1992, he was the team physiotherapist for the Canadian Men’s Ski Team in both the 1994 and 2002 Winter Olympics.
