Warriors’ Draymond Green on Utah Jazz players: ‘it doesn’t hit home until it hits home’

Just guessing here: The life of a professional athlete can be a bit cocoon-ish. They spend much of their lives in safe, controlled spaces — locker rooms, buses, planes, hotel rooms, often steered from distraction.

This week real life intruded on the Warriors’ Draymond Green — all pro athletes, probably — with the news that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had been diagnosed with Coronavirus. That news was almost immediately trumped by the NBA’s announcement that the 2019-20 season was being suspended for the foreseeable future. That news was followed up by a report that Utah’s Donovan Mitchell had the virus and that Gobert may have given it to him.
