Warriors’ Draymond Green helps spark Anthony Davis’ big night

NEW ORLEANS — In the West locker room before tip-off Sunday night, Anthony Davis reminded his teammates that he wanted to win his first All-Star MVP award in front of his home crowd.

Players reckoned that to ensure Davis won the individual honor, he should eye 50 points. Warriors forward Draymond Green mapped out a plan for Davis: 24 points by halftime and at least 30 by the end of the third quarter.

“The guy who really was trying to break it down for me was Draymond,” Davis said, minutes after receiving his MVP trophy.
