OAKLAND — The question remains difficult to answer, even if the Warriors have become encouraged with DeMarcus Cousins’ rehabbing his left Achilles tendon. Has his progress exceeded the Warriors’ expectations in any way?
“We’re not going down that path,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “He’s doing fine. He’s doing well.”
Still, Cousins has shown enough to receive medical clearance to join the Warriors in various non-contact team drills “in the near future.” Kerr said those non-contact exercises will include ball handling, skill work and games of 5-on-0. Although the Warriors have yet to clear Cousins for participating in full-court contact scrimmages, Kerr envisioned Cousins scrimmaging in a different setting.
