SACRAMENTO — Less than a month removed from sweeping LeBron James’ Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, the Warriors only needed a day to upstage James’ decision to sign with the Lakers.
Golden State sent shockwaves through the league Monday night when it agreed to terms with four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year, $5.3 million deal.
Cousins, who sustained a season-ending torn Achilles in January, isn’t expected to return until at least December or January. With four other All-Stars in their prime to help shoulder the load in his absence, Cousins, 27, will be under no pressure to return as soon as possible.
