DENVER — Warriors center Damian Jones, who underwent surgery in June for a torn right pectoral muscle, is nearing his NBA debut.
The 7-foot, 245-pound rookie will be assigned to Golden State’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, on Nov. 20 in hopes of playing in their Nov. 25 game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The plan is for Jones to return to the NBA club soon thereafter.
“He’s really moving well,” head coach Steve Kerr said of Jones, who was cleared for noncontact work last month.
