MEMPHIS - When the Warriors stepped off the plane Tuesday afternoon, assistant coach Ron Adams jokingly asked if the team had just played a game in Memphis because it all seemed so familiar.
It’s been six months since the Warriors were in the birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, but their memories of the Western Conference semifinals remain vivid - mostly, because Memphis is the site where the Warriors matured into a true championship contender.
“That was a huge moment for us,” Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said. “Down 2-1 on the road against a team like Memphis, which was playoff tested, that was kind of the turning point of this team becoming great.
