The 13-year-old, gas-guzzling van that is the main ride at the East Oakland Youth Development Center is about to be upgraded to a brand-new Stephmobile.
Stephen Curry was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player on Monday, and the award comes with a car, a Kia Sorento. Curry donated the car to the center, an organization he knows well.
The new car might not be as handy as the old van for some tasks, so would the center consider trading the Sorento for a van, or selling it? No, no, no!
“Steph wanted us to have that car; we’re going to have that car,” said Regina Jackson, the center’s CEO and president.
