WASHINGTON, D.C. - Stephen Curry just kind of left it hanging out there: “Maybe next time.”
That’s what he said after he made eight three-pointers in three quarters against the Lakers, falling four shy of tying Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall for the league’s single-game record.
His comment seemed somewhat innocuous until the “next time” finally arrived.
On Wednesday at the Verizon Center, the three-point arc opened up enough for Curry to hoist 16 three-point attempts, and since he made the rim look as big as a hula hoop, he strutted away with 11 three-pointers on his way to 51 points in a 134-121 victory in front of a national TV audience.
