SAN FRANCISCO — Alfonzo McKinnie was nowhere to be seen on the Golden State Warriors’ practice courts at Chase Center on Friday. But, from somewhere in the back of the gym, Marquese Chriss emerged.
It’s been reported that McKinnie — just last season a surprise contributor off a somewhat anemic bench — was waived to make room for Chriss, one of the few healthy bigs the Warriors have on their premises.
The 22-year-old was drafted eighth overall in 2016 by the Kings and immediately flipped to the struggling Phoenix Suns.
