While the NBA’s free agency does not officially start until the end of the month, talks about the future of Warriors guard Klay Thompson are already taking place.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst discussed Thompson’s impending entrance into the league’s free market for his services on ESPN’s morning show “Get Up” on Monday. He noted that the “key” to signing the second Splash Brother is to offer a deal that matches what Thompson wants in terms of years, as opposed to simply matching a dollar amount. Windhorst made comparisons with Golden State teammates Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, who each took a pay cut but got a four-year deal.
