OAKLAND – Warriors center JaVale McGee will start against the LA Clippers Thursday night, according to a team release.
The move comes as the Warriors attempt to combat against the slow starts that have plagued them through the first half of the season.
McGee’s ability to rim-run and catch lobs gives the Warriors an alternative to their burly Georgian center Zaza Pachulia, who’s started 48 games this season.
However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that while Pachulia play hasn’t changed during his stint with the Warriors, the players around him have, causing trouble on the defensive end.
