At the start of practice Saturday at Oracle Arena, the Warriors listened to Derrick Morgan’s “Black Superman.”
The 1975 song is an ode to Muhammad Ali and, in the wake of the all-time great’s death Friday at the age of 74, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr used it as a chance for his team to reflect on Ali. Of course, players hardly needed a song to consider how the boxer had changed sports and society.
“Ali was the example of how you use your platform and speak what you believe, no matter what people will say,” two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry said.
