OAKLAND — The decision seemed pretty obvious when the confetti dropped down from the rafters and the champagne poured out of the bottles. Once the Golden State Warriors won their second NBA championship in the past three years, general manager Bob Myers had a pretty simple objective on ensuring that trend continues.
Keep the championship roster intact.
Yet, Myers admitted he thought beforehand, “I don’t know if we’ll keep our players.” Though the Warriors were strongly expected to re-sign Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant for obvious reasons, they faced uncertainty if they could retain Andre Iguodala and add other pieces to further cement the championship concrete.
