There was plenty of praise to go around in the Golden State Warriors’ blowout win against the Suns on Tuesday, but some Dubs fans chose to offer a big thank you to Phoenix guard Bradley Beal for the result.
Part of that stemmed from his on-the-court efforts, or lack thereof given his pedestrian approach to defending and poor shooting night, hitting just three of his eight shots. But most of the sentiment came from what he did earlier this season off the court.
Ahead of the trade deadline, the Suns were interested in trading for Jimmy Butler, but could only do so financially if they were able to move on from Beal’s albatross of a contract, which includes a no-trade clause.
