Warriors reserve center Anderson Varejao has been called back to the United States from the Brazilian Olympic basketball team to undergo tests on his back, according to a report on Brazil's Olympic website.
Varejao, 33, had just re-signed with the Warriors about a week ago as a free agent. In 22 games with the Warriors last season, Varejao averaged 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 8.4 minutes.Varejao is one of three NBA players on Brazil's roster. The others are former Warriors guard Leandro Barbosa and Marcelo Huertas.Brazil opens Olympic play Aug. 7 against Lithuania.
