Even if he hasn’t spent one moment coaching the Warriors during a game this season, Steve Kerr’s career record had improved from 67-15 (.817) to 71-15 (.826) entering Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers.
That’s because, officially, Kerr is still head coach of the Warriors. So any wins or losses on interim coach Luke Walton’s watch actually show up on Kerr’s record, per the NBA office.
Given this, Walton was asked (good-naturedly, of course) if Kerr would buy him dinner in the wake of Golden State’s 4-0 start.
“He buys dinner anyway,” Walton said.
