Walton: Warriors' main concern 'being healthy,' not 72 wins

OAKLAND – Despite the buzz around the Warriors and their chances to break the NBA record for wins in a season, interim coach Luke Walton could not be more emphatic about reiterating its place on the team’s priority list.

Surpassing the record of 72 wins established by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls is low, much lower than overall team health and winning another championship.

“I’ve also said before that we’re not going to coach this season trying to chase that record,” Walton said prior to the Warriors-Lakers game Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.

“We’re still going to give players nights off on back-to-backs,” he added.
