Walton to start usuals in Warriors’ 2nd exhibition game; Thompson to make his debut off bench

PORTLAND - After Thursday morning’s shootaround, Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said he plans to start the usual five (Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut) in the team’s exhibition game against the Trail Blazers.

The starters are expected to play about 20 minutes, and reserve power forward/center Jason Thompson will make his Warriors debut.

“We’re going to get him in with the both the first unit and the second unit,” Walton said. “He’s had a good training camp. He’s still learning the offense a little bit, but we’ll give him a shot to get out there and run with the guys and see how he looks.
