I never understood the phrase “limped to the finish line” until I ran my first half marathon on Sunday. Having been training for the better part of three months, I went into the race with sky high expectations and exited with a wounded ego and some very sore legs. About 8 miles into the race, the wheels unexpectedly came off the wagon, and my goals were to a. finish the race and b. not get injured, with any and all regard for results thrown out the window. I think this mindset accurately captures how the Warriors were feeling through the last month of the season – “just get to the finish line without getting hurt, and we’ll go from there.
