I’m just happy to be here. Who wouldn’t be after the last 40 years? Whether its Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell, Latrell Sprewell and PJ Carlesimo, Chris Washburn and Chris Porter, Chris Webber and Don Nelson, Monta Ellis and the moped, Byron Houston and Jason Caffey, or Todd Fuller and Patrick O’Bryant, this fanbase has suffered through enough trauma for even the most masochistic sports fan. Making it to the Finals isn’t a dream come true, because my dreams as a Warriors fan didn’t even extend this far until very recently. When Game 1 of the NBA Finals tips off on Thursday, it will all be surreal, and this season will be an unqualified success no matter what happens next.
