Steve Kerr has gained some grey hairs from Golden State’s tendency to turn the ball over at a high rate during his tenure as the Warriors’ head coach. However, that run-and-gun style has helped them become one of the best offenses of all-time, and it allows them to get a lot of easy shots in transition.
The Warriors’ turnover issues have contributed to their defensive struggles in the middle of this season as those live-ball steals give opposing teams opportunities to get out in transition and create easy shots themselves.
The Warriors currently rank 28th in the NBA in turnovers per game, but if you adjust for pace and take out some of the garbage time numbers Golden State jumps to 22nd in turnover rate according to Cleaning the Glass.
