SAN FRANCISCO — On the heels of the Warriors’ trade of starting center Willie Cauley-Stein, head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that January is a tough time of the year for several reasons.
The trade deadline provides uncertainty, bodies are banged up and mounting losses hurt morale. For much of this rebuilding season, the Warriors have pragmatically tried to take the longview. However, Friday’s 129-118 loss to the Pacers at Chase Center added to an arduous stretch that has taken a toll on the team.
After Golden State got out to a nine-point lead, Pacers guard Justin Holiday’s 3-pointer tied the game in the first quarter, and Indiana went on to take a 19-point lead with 2:32 remaining in the first half.
