When interviewed after the game by Kerith Burke, Draymond Green was asked if the Golden State Warriors like reminding teams that they are in fact the champs. With a wide grin on his face, and just the faintest hint of a smirk, Draymond replied, “Uhhh…we don’t have to remind them. They know.” After the drubbing the Warriors inflicted on the (former) Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets, you’d have to look under a rock to find someone who isn’t in the know. In an overwhelming performance, the Warriors came out on fire and hit the Nuggets with a haymaker in the first quarter, putting up an NBA record 51 points in the frame, and didn’t let up, dominating the Nuggets wire-to-wire in a 142-111 win that propelled the Dubs to the top of the Western Conference standings and put the entire NBA on notice.
