The Oracle Arena, still referred to by many locals as the “Oakland Coliseum”, is the oldest stadium in the NBA. It opened in 1966, and has been the official home of the Golden State Warriors franchise since 1971. Situated in the thick of East Oakland, this arena is like a sacred basketball oasis in the center of the hood. For several years I lived a 15 min walk from the Coliseum Bart that connects to the stadium. Trust me: it gets real out there.
The Warriors are playing their last season in Oracle before moving across the bay to their shiny new digs in San Francisco.
