The Golden State Warriors converted two-way forward Anthony Lamb to a fully guaranteed contract Thursday night, according to multiple reports, making him eligible for the stretch run and playoffs. As a business transaction, it’s a somewhat boring, possibly inconsequential move made on the margins by an underwhelming team desperately seeking answers. But to anyone paying attention, watching the Warriors protect and praise Lamb and now formally bestow a contract on him has been an uncomfortable situation all season.
In case you’ve been hiding under Chase Center and exclusively listen to Bob Fitzgerald for your news: Lamb was accused of rape and other sexual misconduct by former University of Vermont swimmer Kendall Ware, who named Lamb in a lawsuit against the university in December.
