The Golden State Warriors rumor mill gained considerable propulsion Tuesday with news that the Warriors are a preferred destination for one star player and that they’re keeping an eye on a tanking team.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Jimmy Butler’s agent has told “league circles” the Heat star is “open to destinations such as … the Golden State Warriors.” The Dubs’ competition includes the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.
Of course, that’s provided they’re interested and able to make a trade. The Warriors need to bring in a second star — a player who is able to effectively score on their own accord — something the Athletic’s Marcus Thompson II wrote Monday is “well understood within the franchise.
