Members of controversial Bay Area animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere have disrupted three separate Minnesota Timberwolves games in the last two weeks, protesting the methods used to “cull” millions of chickens during an avian flu outbreak at Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor’s egg farm.
One woman from the group attempted to glue herself to the court, earning herself the nickname “Glue Girl” on social media. Another was dubbed “Chain Girl” after chaining herself to the base of a hoop. Most recently, a woman in a referee uniform tried to run onto the court during Sunday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, but was tackled by a security guard.
