As the Golden State Warriors work the phones in the final week before NBA free agency, rumors are flying around the possibility of adding Clippers star Paul George.
George has a $48.8 million player option for the 2024-25 season that he could choose to decline and become a free agent, with NBA free agency officially beginning on Sunday. But George is reportedly considering picking up his option as a means to facilitate a trade, and the Warriors are viewed by some as a viable suitor.
Longtime NBA insider Marc Stein wrote on his Substack on Sunday that the Warriors are exploring trade options with veteran point guard Chris Paul’s nonguaranteed $30 million contract, which becomes fully guaranteed after Friday if he is still on a roster.
