When the Golden State Warriors went into the All-Star Break running on fumes, there were a lot of valid excuses readily available. Fatigue was a distinct possibility, as the Dubs looked like they were playing with cinderblocks weighing them down. Injuries were a concern, in particular along a decimated frontline that has had Kevon Looney as the only available center for much of this calendar year. There is also the proverbial target on the Warriors’ backs – they get every team’s best shot because they are the Dubs. While I took an extended break, Jonathan Kuminga played in the Rising Stars game, Stephen Curry had an All-Star Game for the ages, and the Dubs opened their second half schedule with a blowout win over Portland.
