Rachel Nichols aptly commented after the Warriors swept the Blazers on Monday night that this series evinced just how much of a sacrifice Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala have made with Durant on the team. She is right. Profoundly. We already knew it, but it’s really satisfying to see it play out right in front of us. There is a reckoning–even restitution–to what is happening with the meteoric Warriors right now. It’s a tasty morsel. The Warriors faithful are savoring the success without Durant because winning without him is an “In your face!” to the resurrected narrative that the Warriors can’t and won’t.
