After months of overly optimistic speculation and breathless rumors, all of which candidly translated to bonkers-level page views for Bay Area websites, we at SFGATE are sorry to report the Giannis Antetokounmpo-to-the-Warriors dream is dead and gone. At least for a long while.
On Tuesday, "The Greek Freak" locked in a record-setting five-year, $228.2 million contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. That extension doesn't even technically begin until next season.
Antetokounmpo tweeted about the contract announcement: "This is my home, this is my city... I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years.
