On Thursday, legendary sideline reporter Craig Sager died after a two-year battle with cancer. The impact of his loss was felt immediately around the NBA.
"He was as identifiable with the NBA as any player or coach," Hall of Famer Larry Bird said in a statement. "The league will not be the same without him."
Players, coaches and franchises filled social media with an outpouring of affection and grief for the broadcaster who loved his bright, garish suits. Among those expressing their fondness for Sager were many members of the Warriors franchise.
Sager, who continued to do his job despite undergoing cancer treatments, received a warm welcome from the Warriors in March when he came to cover their game against the Wizards.
