Heading into the season, the Golden State Warriors were somewhat of a mediocre mystery. And even though they’ve now raced out to a 4-1 start, it appears it’s already time to do some reckless trade rumor-milling.
First, there’s Jimmy Butler. The 35-year-old Miami Heat forward was linked to the Warriors over the summer, after Heat President Pat Riley pointedly said in May that the team hadn’t “really in earnest discussed” making Butler an extension offer. That led to a report from the Athletic’s Sam Amick in September, in which Amick said on Tim Kawakami’s “TK Show” podcast that the Warriors “have interest” in Butler.
