SAN FRANCISCO -- Portland coach Terry Stotts said Warriors center Anderson Varejao made a dirty play in tripping Trail Blazers guard Gerald Henderson in Game 1 on Sunday.
"It was a leg whip, and I thought it was a dangerous play," Stotts said Monday. The tripping incident in the third quarter with the Warriors leading 87-61 came after Henderson bumped into Varejao, and both players were sent sprawling. Henderson responded by getting up and purposely bumping Varejao, and the two were issued double technical fouls. Henderson and Varejao were both ejected after jawing at each other later in the quarter.
