Tankapotamus (Warriors 122, Knicks 124)

There is simultaneously very little and a lot to dissect from yesterday’s contest between the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks. The Knicks had lost 10 straight games, fired their coach, weathered a storm of media inquiry around the perpetual state of disarray surrounding James Dolan, were mired in a teamwide shooting slump, and had a roster seemingly exclusively constructed with castoff power forwards from around the league. And so, promptly, the Warriors, who welcomed back Damion Lee from his injury layoff and were as healthy as they’ve been for weeks, if not months, went down by as many as 22 points in the first half and eventually went back to the locker room facing a seemingly insurmountable deficit of 18 points.
