Tactically (W’s / Clippers Pre-Game 4)

Two decisive and reciprocal things happened in Game 3.

  1. The W’s cracked wide open the Clippers’ “top-lock” defensive scheme.
  2. While on the other end of the floor, the W’s played a complete, buzzer-to-buzzer, seamless, and unrelenting defensive game of their own that smothered the Clippers’ offense in its sleep.

So what will Doc try next?

1. What I’d hoped (and advocated) would happen to dislodge Beverly from Durant is exactly the adjustment Kerr made in Game 3. And Durant spelled out that adjustment quite clearly post-game: “use Andrew Bogut screens to get free.
