OAKLAND — The Warriors expect a lot out of star forward Draymond Green, and in the playoffs, he has delivered when they have needed him the most.
More specifically, he has dominated in elimination games. During his last two postseasons, Green is averaging a near triple-double in closeout games and with the Warriors’ looking eliminate the New Orleans Pelicans from the Western Conference semifinals Tuesday night, the team expects him to bring his great play once more.
“It reflects his competitiveness in general,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “The bigger the game, the better Draymond plays. The more intense he is, the more focus he has.
