As news of Boston Celtics guard Gordon Hayward’s gruesome leg injury began to reverberate across the NBA, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged the delicate nature of the game.
The play happened at the 6:45 mark of the 1st quarter during the Cleveland Cavaliers-Boston Celtics game Tuesday night when Hayward went up to catch an alley-oop pass. On his way down, his left leg got caught on the floor as he fell, causing the injury.
“It was terrifying,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Kerr, who watched the play with the rest of his staff pregame, said the injury showed the delicate nature of the game.
