CHICAGO — Thursday morning at United Center, resting on top of one of Warriors equipment manager Eric Housen’s oversized duffle bags, was a stack of No. 8 Jose Calderon jerseys.
It reinforced just how quickly the Spanish point guard had ebbed in and out of the team’s plans. A day after Calderon took a $400,000 pay cut to obtain his release from the Lakers and sign with Golden State, Kevin Durant hyperextended his left knee. The Warriors opted to use their open roster spot on Matt Barnes, another forward, instead of Calderon.
