SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors may have lost quite a bit of firepower over the summer, but they still have Stephen Curry.
Curry scored 40 points in 25 minutes as the Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 143-123 Thursday to advance to 1-1 on the preseason. He put on a display of step backs, dribble moves and patented fast-twitch releases, and the Timberwolves didn’t have an answer.
In the wake of losing Kevin Durant in free agency and Klay Thompson to injury, the Warriors’ offense can still be dangerous when Curry shoots like he did Thursday.
