OAKLAND — When it was over, when they were finally done trading 27-foot haymakers and can-you-believe that moves, Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving found each other in the postgame scrum and embraced near midcourt.
For 48 minutes, they had a duel for the ages.
For 30 seconds, they held a summit of respect.
“We try to bring the best out of each other,” Curry said, stating the obvious after the Warriors beat the Boston Celtics 109-105 at Oracle Arena.
Curry scored a season-high 49 points and went 8 of 13 from beyond the arc; Irving had 37 and was 5 for 6 from long range.
