Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry suffered a pelvic contusion Thursday that forced him to miss the start of the team’s six-game road trip — a costly 124-115 loss to the Hawks on Saturday with the Western Conference’s playoff seeding still very much up for grabs.
And while the injury seemed likely to keep Curry out more than just a single game — serious enough that the team thought he needed an MRI — there’s a spite game to be played Tuesday, and you know the “petty king” isn’t missing that.
Golden State’s possibly season-saving deadline acquisition, Jimmy Butler, is set to face the Miami Heat on Tuesday for the first time since being dealt in February following weeks of ugly infighting between the Heat and their disgruntled star.
