TORONTO – Almost after every game, Stephen Curry stayed in the gym. It captures the mark of every great player, both young and old. It also shows that Curry shaped those around him well before becoming a Warriors’ star.
As a middle schooler here at Queensway Christian College, Curry did not just complete his routine to build his fundamentals that eventually led to three NBA championships and numerous shooting records. Curry also worked on his moves repeatedly to help his head coach.
“I would tell him to slow down for me. Then I would try to copy whatever he had just done with the ball in slow motion,” said James Lackey, who currently coaches here at Brampton Christian School.
