Speights, Thompson will have expanded roles for Warriors

OAKLAND -- With Warriors backup center Festus Ezeli out for at least six weeks after knee surgery, things could change for Marreese Speights and Jason Thompson.

Speights welcomes any additional responsibilities that come his way beginning Tuesday night when the Warriors take on the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena. "My confidence is always high," he said.Thompson, an eight-year veteran in his first season with the Warriors, said his understanding of what the team needs from him is coming into focus."It's tough because it's a situation you've never been in before.
